Looking for the ultimate SUP surfing paddle? The Quickblade UV is one of the most high performance lightweight efficient paddles in the stand up paddle industry. Giving you amazing power with high a high cadence blade you will be catching waves earlier than before!
If you’re wondering which UV is for you, here’s a quick guide:
UV77: up to 65kg (up to ~143lbs)
UV82: 65-80kg (~143-176lbs)
UV88: 80kg plus (~176lbs plus)
All carbon weight is 16 ounces
UV-77 is 77 sq/in 6.5” wide x 17” tall blade
UV-82 is 82 sq/in 6.75” wide x 17.5” tall blade
UV-88 is 88 sq/in 7” wide x 18” tall blade
The UV has a scooped power face that strategically channels the way water tries to get around the blade. The UV’s small blade paddles like a bigger blade yet it’s surprisingly smooth into and out of the water making for more efficient strokes than traditional shaped blades. it has very nice powerful grab at the inital catch and is also great for surfing, racing, and high end touring.
The UV is the successor of the previously very popular V-Drive series
— Rider’s note:
This is the my favorite paddle for SUP surfing, SUP Foiling, and DW foiling. It’s built of premium materials and super lightweight. I love using this paddle for downwind foiling. The UV 82 feels is the lightest and most premium paddle I have used in the past 15+ years of SUP surfing. It’s my paddle of choice for downwing foiling and takes about 3-6 paddles to get on foil and start my voyage. Most of the time it feels like I’m not holding anything. Since it’s so light, I can mount a camera on the end and still not feel any fatigue after filming for 45 minutes straight.
There are a lot of downwind specific paddles out there but in my experience this UV 82 with the scooped blade provides so much power and a quick release there’s no need to have two different paddles for each sport (SUP waves and SUP downwind).
For foiling and aggressive SUP surfing I recommend not exceeding 0-2 inches over your actual height.
