We did it again! We attended the 2015 Tahoe Classic in Lake Tahoe yet again and we had a great time! Our very own Jason Lee and Steve Nyswonger competed in the 22 mile stand up paddle race across beautiful Lake Tahoe. Jason competed on the SIC X14 Pro and Steve on the 2015 Javelin GX. Both had done the race the year before, but this year definitely brought on new challenges.
Due to the fires up in Northern California, smoke filled the air above and around the lake, making breathing difficult. This was not the only factor that made the race difficult: there was also wind that made the lake choppy! Because of this and the smokey haze making it hard to breathe and see, a lot of the paddlers got off course and had to re-route. But with all of this hindering them, our team still placed 1st and 2nd in the race! Jason won 1st with Steve not too far behind at 2nd place.
The race was not the only item on our agenda during our trip! We also had a blast cruising the lake on stand up paddle boards and kayaks, eating delicious meals and even playing some mini golf! We were able to capture all of this fun as well as the race with the Phantom 3 Professional, the Inspire 1, the DYS 3-Axis Marcia Pro Go Pro Gimbal, and the DYS 3-Axis Summer Air and Handheld Gimbal. We had a fantastic time and are so proud of Jason and Steve for taking on this challenge and coming out on top!
